Romans 8:28 says, “For those who love God, all things work together for good for those who area called according to His purpose.” Now read it again, but slower, thinking about every word. Did you catch it? God says all things . Not some, not most. But all things work together for our good and His good who are called to follow His plans. God does have a plan for everyone. And that everyone includes you. You may not see it when you are going through tough times. But He is using you for His good and your good, no matter the situation. Continue to love Him. Continue to trust Him. And continue to put your faith in Him. He does have a plan, and that’s all you need to know.
My name is Craig Stephen Perino. I’ve been incarcerated since March 22, 2013, for the choices I made. I am not proud of the mistakes, but know I’ve been forgiven by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know that He has the ability to take the circumstances that occur in my life and use them for my good. I find myself totally relying on His will – which I know is perfect. I can grasp the thought that He has called me to step out in faith. He calls me to follow and to be willing. I totally get that. He is a forgiving God, encouraging us to press on. Philippians 3:13-14 says, “Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead….pressing on towards the goal.” As I press on I continue to pray for those people I have hurt by my actions.
Not many of you can say you have been inside the walls of a prison; not many of you can say you’ve shared the same cell with criminals. And not many of you can say you have shared the love of Christ with murderers, thieves, and drug dealers. I have! I personally don’t know what God has in store for me these next few years in prison. But one thing I do know: He has called me to witness and spread the love of God to whoever comes across my path. Please pray that God’s hand is upon me the next few years of my life, and pray that God gives me words to make an impact on those not only inside the prison walls but also outside the prison walls through this blog. Come back often. And feel free to share these writings. God’s blessings.
